Bad PR

By October 16, 2024No Comments

I’m not a PR person (public relations) and still can tell you the Seattle Mariners blew it when they fired their manager. He found out from family and friends after it leaked via social media. He should have been the first call. Sports managers and coaches get fired all the time, if they don’t know it going in they’re naïve. But to have it leaked (probably by an agent) is ridiculous.

It’s a sign of the times, too many people don’t pay attention to common sense.

As previously written I’ve been testing LED projectors for our Rotary project in Antigua. I wrote one company about ordering 40. Common sense says they’d respond quickly. Nope, not a peep.

I’ve been trying to get the City of Kirkland to maintain a trail in their system. Think they’ll call back? Nope. Think they’ll do the work? Nope.

A big part of any advisor’s job is to educate and ask questions to make sure clients have thought through all aspects of what they’re doing.

For example, our clients don’t want to be experts on buying or selling a business, they want to get the deal done on time.
